No Code Salesforce Integration with Cognism

We at Apphienz are bringing you yet another No Code Salesforce Integration, this time with Cognism.

Cognism's transformational technologies assist revenue teams in generating predictable leads and increasing conversions across all interactions. Cognism helps in,

  • Customizing your content

  • Knowing your target segment

  • Selecting your channels

Cognism for Salesforce provides excellent, globally compatible B2B contact data to sales and marketing organizations. Cognism may be integrated with Salesforce to create leads based on your ideal customer and to uncover new opportunities from current CRM information.

Now when we know briefly about the relationship and benefits of Salesforce and Cognism, let's dive deeper into its integration process. It does not require any coding, is simple and quick.

Requirements

Getting My Domain Registered

My Domain is registered by the vast majority of users. If yours isn't already registered, you'll need to do so before downloading the Cognism app in Salesforce.

In Salesforce, go to Setup by selecting the settings cog.

In the Quick Find search box, type My Domain.

Select a domain name and click Register Domain.

An email will be sent to you confirming that the domain has been registered.

Press Login on the very same page.

When you log in with the new domain, you'll see an option to deploy the domain to all users. Select Deploy to Users from the drop-down menu.

The Cognism Salesforce App is easy to set up.

To begin, go to the Salesforce AppExchange and download the Cognism app. Select Get It Now from the drop-down menu.

Install for all users is the preferred option.

Allow the permissions that have been requested.

Select Install & Upgrade from the drop-down menu.

After that, you'll receive an email verifying installation, which you can check in Salesforce by going to Settings > Setup > Installed Packages. Cognism - B2B Data - Lead Prospecting and Data Enrichment is a good place to start.

Open the Cognism app to see if the installation was successful (nine dots in top right corner). If the Cognism app's Dashboard is visible, everything went smoothly. If not, it's likely that My Domain wasn't enabled at the start; delete the Cognism app, follow the procedures in the first chapter to activate My Domain, and then reinstall the Cognism App.

Your personal Cognism success manager will verify that Cognism licenses are assigned and will email you the API Key for the initial (admin) user after the package has been successfully deployed.

After you've got the API key, you may move on to the next step:

  1. Cognism licenses and Permission Sets are only assigned to the original admin user.

  2. By inputting the API key, the first admin user may log into the Cognism Salesforce App.

  3. The creation of match keys

  4. Adding a Cognism Help link

Allocating License and Permission Sets to Cognism (for the initial admin user)

Your Customer Success Manager should have created an initial admin account in the Cognism system and supplied that admin user with his API key based on the email address you gave to Cognism Customer Success Manager for the person who would have the Admin position in the Cognism database.

First, make sure the associated salesforce user with the same email address has the package license and the appropriate authorization sets:

In Salesforce, go to Setup by selecting the settings cog.

To find Installed Packages, use Quick Find.

Next to Package Name, click Manage Licenses.

In the list of users, the administrator who installed the software should appear. Do not add any additional users if that salesforce user matches to the admin email you supplied to Cognism. Please add the Salesforce user who uses the email address for whom Cognism Success Manager issued the API key if that Salesforce user does not correspond to the email of the user that you provided to Cognism. Attempting to utilise the API key for a salesforce user whose email address differs from the one supplied to Cognism may result in problems.

Now, grant the first user the necessary permission settings.

There are two permission sets (standard and admin), and if a person wants to be an administrator, they must add both sets.

Users with the admin permission set may run Analyse CRM, view the dashboard for all users in the company, update mappings inside the app, and establish user limitations. To keep usage under control, we recommend only giving this access to Salesforce/Cognism admins and team managers.

Switch to Users in Salesforce Setup.

Select the user to whom you wish to assign the permission set by clicking their name. In this scenario, the software was installed by the admin user.

Click Edit Assignments after hovering your mouse above Permission Set Assignments.

Add Permission Sets from the Available Permission Sets to the Enabled Permission Sets. Once you've finished all of your assignments, click Save.

An administrator logs into the Cognism Salesforce App (entering the API Key)

A Cognism CSM provides an API Key to your (Cognism) admin. If you're that admin, you'll need to input that API key into the Cognism Salesforce app in order to add more/additional users to Cognism Salesforce App or change Cognism Salesforce App settings.

By clicking the App Launcher button in Salesforce, you can get to the Cognism App.

On the navigation bar, click on the Settings tab.

Enter the API key you were given on the Home page (include the CognimsAPI-P- prefix or any other if provided). Click Save Settings once you've input the API key.

After receiving the message successfully Saved, you may either refresh the page or navigate to any other tab in the Cognism app, such as dashboard, to test if the error "API key is not valid." persists, or go to Prospector and do your first search.

Voila, you can now start using Cognism for Salesforce and start exploring opportunities.
